Always On The Cutting Edge... Putting Customers Needs First

Shredders

Graphite Smoothes the way in Paper Shredding.
Eight years ago we were approached by a local mobile shredder who was having sticking problems with paper and cardboard in his entry chute and his tilt floor evacuation. We tested out our Slide Coat No.1 which solved his problems overnight. At his suggestion we contacted the original equipment manufacturer and have supplied them since for new trucks and customers requiring service. We knew paper and cardboard will not slide over metal from our work with the shipping companies such as UPS, Fedex, DHL etc. and we have now worked with a number of shredders. As one happy customer reported when he coated with graphite from entry to exit the paper moved like crap through a goose or something similar. One concern was whether the graphite might be detrimental to shredding efficiency but we have found it extends cutter performance and improves output. Also customers have seen a major improvement in their systems during rainy seasons as well as low humidity during the winters. Our customers have learned that they can coat the entry chutes by aerosol but the propellant is too smelly for use in the confined areas such as tilting floors and inside walls. They use the Slide Coat No.1 paint-on coating for these confined areas. Slide Coat No.1 is water soluble in its liquid state allowing easy clean-up of the brushes. Also important is to allow the first coat to cure for 24 hours at 56f or higher.

Graphite Lubrication on Extending Crane Booms

Crane boom manufacturers sometimes combine graphite coatings with grease as a dual lubrication system on the sliding surfaces of the boom.
This approach of belt and braces has an admirable intent but unfortunately the two lubricants are not compatible. The alkali component of the grease will attack the graphite and when the grease wears off due to weather and use there is no graphite left to lubricate the sliding surfaces. If a graphite coating is painted on to a grease free boom it will lubricate and stop boom chattering and high friction. It will not run off, freeze or be affected by weather. Since graphite is a soft material it will wear over time and will need to be re-applied to the wear surfaces. However with each application some of the graphite coating will imbed in the pressure contact surface, thus extending the maintenance periods during the life of the crane. We recommend Slide Coat graphite coating which can be applied with a brush or via aerosol cans. We use natural high purity graphite which is finely ground to provide a smooth surface to resist chipping and flaking. The brush on Slide Coat No.1 is water soluble in its liquid form which makes it environmentally friendly and allows us to ship with UPS. Brushes can be cleaned with soapy water. The aerosols contain over 50% more graphite than other sprays on the market and will lay down a heavy duty coating.

Mobile Truck Based Crane Stabilizer Graphite Coating

Trucks used by utility, tree felling and fabrication companies often use extending legs to stabilize the truck while working in the cherry picker boom.
These legs if not coated will rust, score, chatter as they are extended or retracted and can use excessive power to operate. A graphite coating provides a dry slippery surface which provides easy sliding and protects against rust and scoring. The graphite coating is dark grey in color and on the surfaces which are load bearing will shine up to a shiny surface. Since graphite itself is soft some wear will occur but can be easily recoated where worn. For optimum performance please allow the first coat to cure for 24 hours.
